Anne created Senior Sidekick to bring a compassionate and dignified approach to care in her hometown of Piedmont.

During the decade she spent caring for her own parents, Anne Callahan saw firsthand the value of personalized care and the profound benefit of community engagement for seniors. With assistance, loved ones benefit from companionship and reconnection, mental stimulation, improved communication, humor and general peace of mind around life’s challenges. Realizing that the need for a trustworthy and dependable assistant extended well beyond her own family, Anne formalized her skills and experience by becoming a Certified Private Caregiver.

Anne’s professional career has always been deeply rooted in community engagement and addressing the needs of vulnerable populations. She has extensive work experience in psychology within both school and hospital settings. As a Child Life Specialist at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, Anne helped parents navigate complex medical decisions and provided psychological support to families.

Anne graduated from Piedmont High School in 1988 and returned here to raise her own three children who are now high school and college aged. Knowing the local community and the needs of seniors helps to foster a sense of security and efficiency in supporting clients.
